Deepak Chopra's four questions
Recently seen in EnlightenNext Magazine, Deepak Chopra's four questions
What kind of world do you want to live in and what kind of world do you want your children and grandchildren to live in?
I want to live in a world where we value joy, expression, and sharing. I want my children to know how much their happiness matters in the world.
I hope all children know their heart as more powerful then their mind and fears.
In our future music and art are cherished and create connection. I want my children to live in a world where their education and health matter. They play outside with friends and feel safe.
Curiosity leads to discoveries and relationships.
My children know that they can ask questions and that their thoughts create a reality. When my children feel pain and loss they can cry, scream, hug, and have the freedom to feel what their feeling. The loss and pain my children experience gives them strength. My children have opportunities to realize their dreams and bring their own magick to this life. They see the planet as a gift from the forest to the sea, deserts to their home. My children are taught to love themselves and can have the courage to express themselves and constantly search for where their path is.
What is your role in bringing this about?
I am developing an art program that fosters creative expression, self-esteem, emotional and social exploration. The art program can be for boys and girls, women and men, people with special needs, it is inclusive and developmentally appropriate for its artists. Each art unit is rich with curiosity, limitlessness, choice, and success. The artists find treasures in themselves as they continue along their creative adventure. They see how empowering sharing and listening can be and they see their peers as beautiful and unique. They learn more about who they are and who they can be in their world. Each artists has a chance to see their strengths and weaknesses and grow. They can feel and express any emotion that is inside them. Their art gives them a chance to move their emotions. The artists problem solve, ask for help, and give support to each other. Because of their involvement in the art program our community is strengthened. Each artist feels the power of their creations.
I am committed to love, big love. A dream of mine is to connect with a caring, silly, loving man who wants to commit to having children with me. Our love for one another manifests itself with our children. Our struggles are comforted with warm memories and growth. My children, husband and I believe in one another and support one another in fulfilling and realizing our dreams even if they seem like fantasies. We create our own holidays. We dance. We swim and play with the sun. Because my husband and I love ourselves and each other so much we can raise a family.
I can also being a role model to all the girls in my life. I can claim my beauty, truth and desires and embrace my mind, body and spirit. I am committed to expanding even when i have breakdowns and don't know where to put my hope. I can honor and care for my body and create healthy habits. I can be a loving, honest, devoted sister to GG, Oli and Marisa. I can cherish all the women in my life and all the ways they love me even when i don't want to love myself.
Regarding the organizations that you're part of, what kind of team do you want to have and what kind of relationship do you want to have with this team?
I work for an organization called Opportunity For Independence. For the past three years I have developed relationships with each person i share my days with. I teach our clients how to live their independence, identify their desires/needs/wants, and realize that they are capable of living the life they want. I teach them how to take care of their bodies, minds, homes and hearts. We are a team that trusts each other. I can ask my team for help and i can offer a hand when needed.
Wherever i work I am project minded and passionate about enriching lives. I believe that time is valuable and i care about people. I am energetic, and enthusiastic when i am inspired. I appreciate humor and my days are decorated with laughter even when there is frustration, blocks, and anger.
I would like to become a midwife to the dying and support people as they make the transition towards dying. I value altered states of consciousness and see death as the ultimate altered state. I am committed to cultivating the presence to be with death with fearless compassion. I want to create a team of healers who bring their gifts to people who are dying. together we create a program that establishes a philosophical commitment and respects the human journey as sacred.
What do you see as the primary need in our current cultural moment?
The primary need for our cultural movement is toward holistic heart connections. We will no longer need to look outside ourselves for approval, success, joy and meaning. We need to treat and see ourselves as whole and in doing so we can care for our planet, community, home, families, children, and our spirit.
